You don't see computer prices go down by over 20% every day, especially not among already cheap netbooks. However, Best Buy has started selling MSI's Wind U100 for just $350—about a hundred bucks less than what Newegg currently charges.
The Wind U100 configuration Best Buy offers has a 10" 1024x600 display, an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, a 120GB 5,400-RPM hard drive, a three-cell battery, and a copy of Windows XP Home Edition pre-installed. With this price drop, MSI is now undercutting Asus' Eee PC 1000HA by a good $80. Then again, the Eee PC does have a bigger hard drive and a six-cell battery. (Our Wind U100 only stayed up for 2.5 hours in our tests, and Asus quotes a maximum of 6-8 hours for the 1000H.)
Check out our review of the Wind U100 for our overall take on the system. Make sure you have a look at our back-to-school netbook guide to see how the U100 compares to its peers, too.
