Umm... I'm confused... How is this a DIY netbook? I thought it meant getting your own CPU and video card too. No? Still the same old Atom and crappy chipset? If they had added the option of a video card, I might have considered.
But I also question the DIY logic cuz of the steps they gave to turn on the pc... *laughs* That was funny anyway. Or maybe the term "DIY" is different for netbooks? |

New bee question,... when you install Sim card in the net book, how do you use it as a phone ? Does it have a speaker and mic both, just like other PDA ? or do i have to install a software to get the things working ?

Ok, so how much is a retail box OS that works on this thing? Besides throwing something free on it, the discount you get buying the OS with the netbook itself seems to destroy the value proposition.

I like the way it looks... then again, I like the old Jeep Cherokee, too.

The complaint about the keyboard seems a little odd considering you aren't supposed to rest your wrists anywhere if you are typing correctly.

I already am pre-disposed to hate this product because it dilutes the term "DYI."
DYI? It's no more DYI than most notebooks already! I hope those marketers get popped for DUI (since they probably drink way too much to be coming up with this stuff). |

"I've been known to swap between multiple SIM cards while traveling...There's only one problem: you need a screwdriver to get it open... A simple latch would get the job done just as well."
that would mean Jason Bourne could swap your card out in 10 seconds instead of a minute! |

I still don't understand why netbook makers didn't emphasize battery life from the start. Given that the technology is there, a two pound mini-laptop that runs a whole day on a single charge is such an obvious product to makeā¦

Battery life on its own with Win7 is fine to mention, I suppose, but comparing it to "comparable netbooks" is a bad idea - XP is lighter on battery consumption than Vista, and Win 7 isn't widely reported.
As a result, it kind of makes the battery life test meaningless. |

Why didn't you try Ubuntu on it? That would be interesting. Windows on a netbook.. Pff.

The extra ports and slots for mobile broadband are a nice touch, but for the money, I would rather see OCZ go for a higher res screen (since there's no XP licensing crippleware restrictions) and twice as much battery capacity (for obvious reasons).

OCZ is nuts on the price, they need to knock it as close $200 as they can for this hardware if they want it to sell.
